Bass have been filtering in in a steady stream the last few weeks and the fishing's been getting better and better with each passing day...
Year after year there comes a day where the switch goes. This morning was the tipping point as it's FULL ON @ this point on out.
Left the Dock @ first Light this Morning Poled a flat that proved to be pretty quiet and we ran to a series of point that were holding fish in the last throws of the out going tide. First creek had three tributaries that prove to hold fish right in the center and we jumped two bass landing one that hit each point and cove coming down the flat landing or jumping a fish on each one.
With the tide fully out we changed it up for some open water where the fish would be relating to grass beds that I'll discuss in future articles ahead...
Here the fish were smashing the plugs but almost in a territorial fashion with us just landing a handful. We left the area headed down to a trench on the flat with a swift incoming tide jumping three fish and landing one. Afterwards we double back to the open water and found the fish still there
but now feeding heavy in foot and a half of water.
Fish of all sizes , double headers, jumpers and few real solid ones mixed in.
Hitting up the lights with a fly fishing trip @ midnight tonight then a turn around in the am @ first light tomorrow morning for another topwater bass session on the marsh.
